NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK
One of Kenya's original National Parks established in 1946, it features 46 sq. miles of pristine savannah and yet is only six miles from the city centre. Large populations of Giraffe, Wildebeest, Eland and Gazelle dominate the plains. Of the Big Five only the Elephant has not been spotted. Prides of Lions appear at the entrance to Mbagathi Gorge.
This park, so convenient to the business traveller also offers the spectacle of a Nairobi silhouette on the near horizon. Bounded by the Athi River to the south with its Hippo Pools, here there are two animal orphanages, including Daphne Sheldricks' Home for Orphaned Elephants and Rhinos.
LAKES NAKURU & NAIVASHA
In the Great Rift Valley on Lake Nakuru there is the amazing spectacle of the Flamingo. In a purpose-built Safari Cruiser, head north-west, descending to the floor of the Great Rift passing Mt. Longonot. En-route there will be many opportunities to take spectacular photographs. Arrive at Lake Nakuru just before lunch, here is the most awesome bird spectacle in the world - a million greater and lesser Flamingo transform the shores of the lake to that of a delicate pink due.
The National Park here is home to many mammals, including Leopard, Lion and Rhino. Lunch is taken at one of the lakes lodges. After lunch head back for Nairobi via Lake Naivasha. On and around this lake in the Great Rift Valley are upwards of six hundred species of birds, have afternoon tea on the shores of this beautiful lake before returning to Nairobi.
BOMAS OF KENYA
Bomas of Kenya is a cultural centre, a short drive from the city, set in a rural environment. Here you can gain insight into village life and traditional African dancing - vividly described for the benefit of the audience - at a permanent exhibition. The dancing covers events occurring in the lives of Kenya’s different tribes. Authentic 'bomas' or villages are all part of the presentation, representing the country's 16 ethnic groups, so this tour will be an enlightening Kenyan experience!
KAREN BLIXEN & GIRAFFE MANOR
Drive towards the Ngong Hills and through small villages to the Karen Blixen Museum - the house which, for many years was her home. Next driving through the residential area of Langata the tour continues to the Giraffe Manor where the offspring of Daisy (the famous Rothschild Giraffe) can be seen and fed at their beautiful home overlooking at the Ngong Hills. After tea at the Giraffe Centre, you return back to Nairobi.
CITY TOUR
Let our experienced drivers show you the sights of Nairobi! This tour includes a visit to the colourful City Market, Parliament Buildings and the Kenyatta Conference Centre, along with other places of interest. Clients will then visit the National Museum, which has become a major international centre of Homo Sapien history. Your tour finishes with a visit to the Snake Park.
